THE ARTIST’S STUDIO

A bright and comfortable two-bedroom apartment with a creative past.

Once the studio of French watercolourist Paul Marny, this thoughtfully designed second-floor apartment blends historic charm with relaxed, modern living. Marny’s time here is marked by a blue plaque on the building, and you’ll find a few of his works displayed in the apartment.

The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is spacious and light-filled — the same space where Marny used to paint. There’s a three-seater sofa, armchair, 55” smart TV with Netflix, and a dining table with four chairs.

The kitchen is well equipped for your stay, with a two-ring induction hob, combination oven/grill/microwave, fridge with icebox, Nespresso machine, toaster, kettle, and a full set of cooking essentials.

Off the hallway, you’ll find a modern bathroom with a full-size bath, plus two bedrooms — one with a double bed, the other with a king-size bed. The main bedroom also includes a small snug area with a sofa, smart TV, and a view towards Oliver’s Mount.

The apartment is on the second floor, with steps up from the street and two flights of stairs inside the building. Once inside, it’s all on one level.

A comfortable base with a creative backstory — ideal for a relaxing stay in Scarborough.

  • "We had a lovely stay here, as a family of 4 + a dog. The apartment is beautifully designed and expertly finished with a minamilst look and feel, but still has everything you would need. It was very cosy and comfortable and in a great location, close to shops, takeaways and many other amenities."
